How to Make Octopus Hot Dogs

In a lot of manga and anime there will be mini hot dog octopus in bentos. So I thought that the first thing to make should be an octopus hot dog. They are really easy and fun. I tried to look up how to make one off of YouTube or another site, but they had them fried and took a lot of work. Mine are simple and cook in 30 seconds!

Step 1:
First cut the hot dog into two pieces each with an end of the hot dog. These pieces should roughly be about two inches long.

Since the hot dog is open to the air you don't need to poke holes in it when you cook it.

Step 2:
Next, cut two slits all the way through the hot dog. The slits should be about an inch or a half-inch from the top of the piece and should divide the bottom of the hot dog into four pieces. Most Octopus Hot Dogs have 8 legs but these have 4 if you want more legs cut the bottoms into 8 pieces instead of 4.

Step 3:
Put the hot dog pieces in the microwave for 30 seconds facing up with the flat side on the bottom. They will tip over while cooking and then, the four pieces will separate and curve to look like the octopus feet.

Step 4:
Enjoy!

Bento Away!!!

This blog is going to be my adventures with bento making. Recently I was intrigued by how cute some people can make their bento, so I decided to try it myself. This blog will follow all of my greatest achievements (and failures) in bento making. So please enjoy!
